From the blackberry bush to the distilling vat

With its multi-layered aromas, this blue-black fruit is considered a particularly interesting brandy speciality. We need up to 12 kg of ripe blackberries to produce one litre of this brandy.

Carefully mashed and fermented with yeast, we distil the berries at least twice in a gentle fine distillation process. This is done under vacuum, at a low distilling temperature, which preserves the fruit's fine aromas. In addition, this allows us to optimally separate the head and tail. What remains is the middle fraction – the heart of the blackberry brandy, which contains the full flavour and character of the fruit.

Blackberry Brandy from Hafele

The distillate needs time to rest in order to develop the aroma perfectly. For this purpose, it is placed in our specially made stoneware containers – called Hafele. The special thing about stoneware is the fine-pored structure of the container, which allows the distillate to "breathe". It remains there for several years and is regularly checked by our master distillers. When it is finally ready to be enjoyed, we dilute it to drinking strength with the finest spring water.
On the nose, Hafele Blackberry Brandy captivates with elegance and the fine scent of chocolate and caramel. Fruity and concentrated on the palate, it finishes with fresh, slightly resinous forest aromas. A perfect pleasure!
