Distillery Art From Vorarlberg

Our master distiller creates real treasures using the latest distilling technology and traditional methods. To achieve this, he distils particularly slowly and gently under a vacuum, preserving the delicate fruit aromas. For the first stage, he extracts the so-called raw distillate. This is concentrated into a fine distillate in the second stage. After that, the decision is made as to which is the best storage container for the distillate in order to develop its full aroma. Our clear 40 % schnapps matures for several years so that alcohol and fruit combine harmoniously

Schnapps Distillery With Over 130 Years Of Distilling Experience

The Prinz Distillery has been in family hands for four generations. What began in 1886 as a farm with an inn has developed into a company that is both tradition-conscious and innovative.

A glance at the history of the company: at the end of the 19th century, the distilling license was granted to us by the then Empress Maria Theresia.

Austrian spirits with tradition: the Traditional 40 % spirits are part of our history. This is also reflected in the design of the popular bottle. It has remained almost unchanged for around 50 years and is the trademark of our family business.

The climate in the foothills of the Alps, with cool nights and sunny days, provides the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Water and wind allow the juicy fruit flavour that's characteristic of the variety to flourish. The fruit growers care for the trees all year round and expertly choose the right time to harvest. This requires a lot of skill and experience. At the peak of ripeness, the fruit is picked, meticulously sorted, washed and only then processed into our Traditional 40 %.
