Speciality liqueur made from green walnuts

Spicy, potent and incredibly nutty: this ever-popular nut's character and flavourful facets are clearly evident in our Wild Walnut Liqueur. As with most of the ingredients we use, the degree of ripeness is important to the resulting flavour – or in this case, to be more precise, un-ripeness. We don't need a nutcracker to make this nut speciality liqueur because we harvest the nuts from the local forests by mid-June at the latest – this is when they are still green and the kernel inside still soft.

In our liqueur kitchen, we cut the walnuts in half and soak them in alcohol along with select spices. This mixture is left to rest for several weeks at a relatively warm ambient temperature, giving it enough time to develop its special taste and strong colour. Then it is finally time to taste!

Immediately the nose is beguiled by the intense fragrance of the wild nuts. On the palate, the concentrated flavour of the nuts develops: slightly tart, spicy, unmistakably nutty in taste and long-lasting in the finish. A unique pleasure that you should not only try neat but also over vanilla ice cream. It tastes simply wonderful!

Enjoyment recommendation: Enjoy Wild Walnut Liqueur well chilled at a temperature of between 10 and 17 °C.
