The Apricot Brandy from Austria

Apricot is one of the most popular varieties for brandy – the delicate freshness of the fruit with its subtle spicy notes is an absolute delight. Fruits from the best locations are delivered fresh to Obsthof, where we subject them to strict quality control. Only the best make it into a Hafele brandy bottle!

The apricots are then processed and mashed. In large fermentation tanks, the fruit sugar is gradually transformed into alcohol. Once the process is complete, the apricot mash is put into copper kettles in our distillery. In the high-quality Hafele distillery process, an incomparably aromatic distillate is created under particularly gentle conditions. We then store it for several years in large, fine-pored stoneware containers – this gives the delicate apricot distillate enough time to develop its flavour.

Fruity freshness from stoneware

At the perfect time, we reduce the distillate to drinking strength with spring water, although at 45% vol, it is still quite strong. The aroma of this fine spirit is particularly pure, fruity and slightly sweet. The rich fruit presents itself on the palate as simultaneously strong and fresh, a striking impression that gives way to an almost velvety feeling and ends with a fruity finish.
