Capturing the delicate flavour of strawberries in a brandy is an art form. It requires skill, know-how and – above all – the vast experience of our master distillers. Even selecting and processing the strawberries has an important effect on the taste, so the hand-sorted fruits must be ripe and undamaged. Before mashing, all green parts of the fruit – such as stems and leaves – are removed as these would give the distillate an unpleasant, musty taste. The mash is left for about two weeks to ferment, then it's ready for the Hafele process of double distillation and stoneware maturation.

A strawberry brandy from Hafele

The high-quality middle fraction, the so-called heart, is stored in stoneware for several years. In this fine-pored container, the strawberry distillate has time to perfectly develop its aromas.

When mature, the Hafele Strawberry Brandy immediately impresses the nose with a fruity, slightly nutty smell. A fruity start on the palate is followed by pleasantly sweet tones of freshly cooked jam and a light citrus note, which lingers pleasantly long in the finish.
