Regional speciality liqueur from Austria

This Vorarlberg speciality combines past and present in a smooth liqueur: an old variety meets the modern art of distilling. 

Every year, we harvest wild pears from long-established local standard trees. After careful quality control, we refine part of the harvest into a potent distillate with a spicy aroma. This is stored in our maturing cellar for several years before it finds its way into the Wild Subira Pear Liqueur as the first main ingredient.

Every season, we also gently press fresh wild pears into a fine, tart juice: the second main ingredient of this Prinz speciality.

The resulting Wild Subira Pear Liqueur releases the characteristic flavour of the pear on the palate: full-bodied, delicately spicy and distinctive. A truly rare, local delight.

Subirer – Vorarlberg Tradition

We refine this local pear variety, known as "Subirer" in Austria, into various spirits, including the popular Hafele Subira Pear Brandy. This is part of a long Vorarlberg tradition – for over 120 years in our region, this small fruit with rough skin has been processed into a mash and distilled. In fact, the precious Subira distillate is hardly used anymore for anything else! The term "Subirer" is actually protected and may only be used for Subira Brandy from the geographical region of Vorarlberg.

Wild Subira Pear Liqueur is best enjoyed neat and well chilled – at a temperature of between 10 and 17 °C.
