The mild plum speciality
We start processing these ripe, black-purple fruits soon after they're delivered to our Obsthof in Leiblachtal. First, the plums are mashed, then distilled into an intensely fruity distillate with slightly spicy notes. After a lengthy maturation period in stoneware, we use it to refine our delicious speciality plum schnapps – the Zwetschgerla. This clear schnapps exudes a slightly floral, sweetish nose while finely spicy aromas and a pleasant note of cinnamon unfold on the palate. With its 34 % vol, this schnapps has a particularly soft finish. No sharpness, no scratchy throat – just pure drinking pleasure.
Enjoyment recommendation: Enjoy Zwetschgerla slightly chilled in a Stamperle Glass or Schnapps Glass, at a temperature of between 15 and 18 °C.
